Crispy Healthy Air fryer Chicken Tenders

These Air fryer chicken tenders are super easy to make from scratch at home. No need to get the expensive frozen stuff and they are super crispy and tasty without deep frying. One really cannot fault that, right? My kids absolutely love these. They are a perfect snack or appetizer. Great for parties or just a chilled out evening at home.

You can have these chicken tenders ready in under 30 minutes (after marination time), and they use a few easily available ingredients in your pantry.

Here is the easy and crispy Air fryer chicken tenders recipe:

Ingredients:

1 lb. chicken tenders or 500 gm.

½ cup thick yogurt

1 tsp. ginger garlic paste

½ tsp. salt

1 tsp. pepper

For the coating

½ cup breadcrumbs homemade or store bought

¼ tsp. salt

½ tsp. pepper

For spraying or brushing

2 tsp. oil

Recipe:

Take chicken tenders in a bowl. You can use boneless breast or thigh pieces to cut into strips. Here I have used boneless thigh pieces. 1 lb. or 500 gms. should give you about 8 to 10 tenders and is suitable for 4 people.

Mix together thick yogurt, ginger garlic paste, salt and pepper and use this to marinate your chicken tenders.

Now keep it marinated for about 1-2 hours covered in a fridge.

For Air frying:

Take the breadcrumbs in a shallow bowl. Add salt and pepper to it. Now take the tenders one by one and roll them in breadcrumbs till they are nicely coated. Keep aside in a clean plate.

Repeat for all the chicken tenders.

Now pre heat the Air fryer to 390 F or 200 C for 6 minutes.

Spray or brush the basket with oil. Spray or brush the tenders with oil. This helps in crisping them and also giving them a golden brown exterior.

Don’t overcrowd your basket. Now Air fry on each side for about 5 minutes. They should be crispy and well cooked.

Serve hot chicken tenders with a dip of your choice.

Pro Tips

1. The air frying time will vary slightly depending upon your Air fryer type and the size of your tenders.

2. Your marination should be thick and not runny. This will help the breadcrumbs adhere well to the chicken tenders.

3. You can add spices like dried parsley, basil or oregano, even chilli flakes depending upon your preference.

4. Spray oil on the tenders when you flip so that the tenders are nice and crispy.

5. When cooked chicken tenders are juicy and tender inside and crispy outside.

6. In case you are planning to serve them later, air fry for 3 minutes on each side and keep aside. Before serving, air fry in a pre-heated Air fryer for 2 minutes on each side to heat and finish cooking and serve hot.
